I first joined StarLeaf as an Operations Assistant soon after completing my final year at university. When I first walked into the StarLeaf office, I instantly felt the culture of the company and knew it was a company that I wanted to work for. I also felt that by joining StarLeaf I wouldn’t be just a number and that my voice would be heard, so when I was approached by the CEO who called me by name on my first day I knew I had chosen the right company.
What exciting projects have you worked on?
I have worked on projects such as trade shows, site setup, compliance projects & new product introduction.
What are your most memorable experiences at StarLeaf?
Probably having the chance to travel on business and meet people from all over the world. During my time at StarLeaf, I have had the opportunity to visit our sites in both Hong Kong and California, as well as visiting suppliers and manufacturers based around the UK.
What does a day in the life of a Logistics Manager at StarLeaf look like?
Every day is different. Most of my time is spent developing and implementing processes with the aim of optimizing the efficiency of our global logistics team. Aside from this, I spend a lot of my time solving problems, responding to customer queries, providing training to logistics staff members and ensuring StarLeaf complies with import/export laws worldwide.
What aspects of your role are you most passionate about?
What I like the most about my role is that I feel like I can make a difference at StarLeaf. I feel like the management at StarLeaf are very open to new ideas, and I am offered a lot of freedom when it comes to implementing new procedures that I feel will make things better for StarLeaf and our customers.
What advice would you give to an aspiring member of the Logistics team?
I think the most important competency required to work in StarLeaf’s Logistics team is the ability to be proactive. We work in a fast-growing company and are constantly having to deal with change, so having an innovative mindset and the ability to plan is crucial.
