StarLeaf's seamless approach and cloud platform ensure complete security and resilience for all users.

Sunnyvale, CA., April 11th, 2014: StarLeaf, video conferencing service provider and manufacturer of video endpoints, has announced an all clear status for its cloud video conferencing service and video endpoints following the frenzy caused by the Heartbleed bug, widely reported as a security risk for all users of Internet services.

"Security is a critical component of the cloud video conferencing service that we provide and we constantly monitor security updates. As soon as Heartbleed hit the wires on April 7th, we immediately removed the risk to our users by deploying the OpenSSL fix," said Mark Loney, StarLeaf CEO.

All StarLeaf data centers were instantly confirmed as secure and all users protected from any vulnerabilities that may have been caused by Heartbleed. "We have no evidence that any StarLeaf user credentials were compromised. However, we recommend that our users consider taking the extra precaution of changing their StarLeaf password," continued Mark Loney.

The Heartbleed bug emerged in software that should have kept data passing between sites and users safe from scrutiny. Instead the bug meant that attackers could use specially crafted queries to slowly steal data from servers.

One of the major benefits for users of StarLeaf cloud video conferencing solution is that major incidents such as Heartbleed will be automatically and immediately resolved with no disruption to the service or to users who also do not need to take any remedial action.

"Users of other manufacturer's video conferencing equipment will find that they are placed in the unfortunate position of waiting for that supplier to deliver an upgrade that fixes the problem, meanwhile they are vulnerable," concluded Mark Loney.
