It's not every day you get to meet an astronaut, so when our partners at TecInteractive gave us the opportunity, we took one giant leap at the chance. Organisers of The Graduate Engineer & Science Show were looking for a live video link so that star attraction, Jean-François Clervoy, veteran of three NASA space shuttle missions and holder of five NASA medals, could speak directly from Novespace in France to their show audience in Derby, UK. The link would have to deliver on both video and audio so the organisers were looking for something more reliable and robust than just a Skype connection. Thanks to StarLeaf, Jean-François was able to engage with the audience in real time, presenting his journey from engineer to astronaut and answering questions from the crowd, all in crystal clear audio and appearing larger than life on HD video on a 3x4m screen. Take a look at our pictures below to see how we helped to create an event that was simply out of this world.
